Different RE Amemiya light kits
Does anyone know if Re Amemiya has different light kits for FDs? I searched their gallery and seem to find differences between some of their kits, but they only list one on their catalog page.
I see a kit with lights that look like they are in a black casing like these:
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/...d_kita_go.html
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/...d_mu_a_go.html

http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/..._koube_go.html
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/...ashi_w_go.html
And I see ones that are not, like these:
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/...tunoda_go.html
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/...hirata_go.html
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/...d_ueda_go.html
http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/...d_ochi_go.html
Just wondering what kit it is that they are advertising on their site. I could and probably will email them to find out for sure. But with all of the experience here on the forum I figured I would throw up a post and see what anyone has to say. Thanks, Jerry

I figured that there is only one kit but it looks like there are different lights. Looks like some have a casing around the lights and some don't. Does anyone here have pics of these kits and can confirm?
Sleek Light Kit
Basically we have 2 types of light kits , Sleek Light Kit.
One is for street. the other for track.
As for the track version , air intake option is available.
But not available for the street version.
Both versions have Xenon and Halogen.

So whats the difference between the street and track version besides the intake duct option? I'm considering replacing my C West carbon fiber headlight kit with the RE Amemiya sleek light kit with duct. I'm wondering why they don't consider the kit with the duct as a "street" kit. Rain? Things getting sucked in the duct? I think the duct is a great idea for us with single turbos since it would be great to duct right to the air intake of the turbo.
Also for the headlight with the duct I always see the intake duct listed separately. Does RE not sell the kits with the duct as a complete kit or do you need to order the regular kit and then add the duct? I would assume you would since I see the price of the regular kits run 1200 - 1500 US and the duct is another 1k US. $2500 or so for lights is a bit much but they are nice.

Maybe it's me, but I see a difference just between the street kits. Looks like some have black casing around the lights and some don't. If anyone here has the newest version of this kit would you please post or PM me a pic. I'm extremely interested in purchasing one but I want to know exactly what I'm getting. Thanks for the responses, Jerry
I wasn't planning on spending anymore than $1500, and that's still a bit much. And as far as a new engine goes, the one I have in there only has like 12k miles and only has around 360rwhp, so I'm sure it's fine.

This thread is deader than dead but my question is relevant to this discussion now that it has been 18 years.
There is currently 4 RE Amemiya Sleek Headlight options available on their website, the first being the H11 Kit, and the others being the Air Duct kits:
-FD3S SLEEK AIR DUCT TYPE A(side)
https://reamemiya.us/products/fd3s-s...uct-a-typeside
-FD3S SLEEK AIR DUCT TYPE A
https://reamemiya.us/products/fd3s-s...ir-duct-a-type
-FD3S SLEEK AIR DUCT TYPE B(side)
https://reamemiya.us/products/fd3s-s...uct-b-typeside
What I am wondering is if anyone can explain the differences to me between these three duct kits. As much information as possible would be much appreciated as there are a couple hundred dollars worth of differences between each option.

Would seem best to contact them if they're the US reps and nobody responds. With the H11 kit worse than stock lighting and needing metal cutting to install, those basically fixed aim headlights in those kits wouldn't be a blessing (or probably legal, even over there) if there was any intention of road use.
If you put the part numbers into RH Japan, you can see some detail, which may or may not be accurate. One of the type A 148s appears to be a bare shell with the acrylic cover, the other one may include the sealed beam, ballasts, etc. Type B 149 looks to have some type of fill panel under the acylic and include the lighting.

Thanks for the info. To be honest the H11 kit isn't as important to me as the ducting that is available. It might be an odd idea but what sleek kit that has similar looks to the RE Amemiya do you recommend that has similar dimensions on the lights so I may use the ducting?
I have a project I am working on and the headlight duct is integral to it.

Don't know of any kits with ducts, they heyday of those types of lights (and those sleepy eye things that you never see anymore) was probably 15~20 years ago, when there may have been something else. To channel the air effectively, it probably did require half the sheetmetal removed like in the RE lights.
I'm pretty sure those plastic twin bubble type headlight buckets - that stick up slightly above the bodywork, are still available in Japan, I suppose you could remove one of the headlights there and be creative for something. Likewise, if lucky, maybe search for a nicer looking C-West set secondhand and modify, usually the acrylic cover on those is damaged in some way by heat and I believe impossible to buy replacements, so maybe cheaper than the alternative.

How about the Evo R kit? Not the demon one, just the normal one. I hear good things about the Evo R kit and it seems a bit cheaper than the RE-A. If that kit is more worth it I will probably go that route and try to fit them to the RE Duct.
