different question about fan mod.
I ran a search for the "fan mod" and came up with the fan mad where you splice the "relays" that control the fan. Also, I found one on the scuderiacirian webpage that uses the ECU to control the fan. Can anyone tell me what the difference between the 2 are? is one more reliable then the other??? will either work with the pfc?? I'm just totally lost as to which one to use

If you have the PFC, you don't need to do the fan mod. You can buy/borrow the datalogit to lower the temps the fans come on. Even without the datalogit, the PFC default settings turn the fans on at 99C, instead of 105C, like the stock ecu.

has anybody automated the fan mod set up. I would like set up that works as follows.
With car running, fans come on low speed at 190 d.
- this I can do with Power FC.
Fans go to medium speed when fan temp sending unit reaches 205 deg F.
- I think the stock sending unit doesn't trip the fan relay until 226 deg. This is too high. I read that the miata one can be used instead.
Fan goes to high when temp reaches 220 deg.
- I no longer have a/c so it would be nice to have use of the high setting for extra extra cooling.
Fan comes on automaticly when car is turned off and temps go above 210 degrees lets say. This is to help eliminate heat soak. I do not want to have to flip a switch and then switch it back every time. I would like to be able to pull up where ever I am and let the turbo timer run for two minutes to help circulate the oil around the turbos so that it does not coak up and then after the car shuts off, have the fans and an auxilary electric water pump continue to circulate coolant to keep heat soke from occuring.
I might just run the pump by itself or both at the same time for about 5 min. Like I said, I want this too be automated. I used to dod the fan mod but the problem is that if you do not turn the switch back off, it keeps the relay circuit engaged and drains the battery. Even though the fan shuts off, the relay still drains the battery.

If you are concerned about having your car cool when you shut it down, the ABSOLUTE best way is to drive it easy before you get to your destination, and TURN IT OFF!!!
Think about it. If the car sits at idle, no air is going thru the radiator. No air is going thru the oil cooler. If the car idles, it gets hotter. Do your car a favor, and get rid of the turbo timer

the problem is heat soak. No matter how mildly you drive your car, if it is at full operating temp and you turn it off, you get heat soak. The water temps will climb to around 230 deg, even more for some who use Evans. The only way to combat heat soak is to circulate the coolant after shut down.
Turbo timers also have different time settings specifiacally for the reason you describe. If you do not need to idle it for 2 min. then you can just do it for 30 sec. or nothing. If you get in a situation where you have been beating on it and do not have time to wait for the car to cool down, then you will need the extra cool down time for the turbos. Turbo timers are mainly to stabilize the temps in the turbo so they do not coke the oil that remains against the bearings when the car is shut off.
You are correct about taking it easy before turning it off. this of course should mean that the turbo is at a temp cool enough to not coke the oil and safe for immediate shut down. This however will not do much for disapaiting underhood heat and heatsoak after shut down, espeacially in Florida.

1) Do i need ANY fan switch connected to my car for the fans to turn on with the PFC
2) Can i lower the temperature of the fans to turn on with the commander only, no datalogic?
