Question different AST's?

What other aftermarket AST's are available for the FD? I know of the pettit and a few other homemade ones. I am looking for a well-made, durable AST preferably with a chrome or polished surface. Anyone have any info? Thanks.

you can try tri point racing in cali.they have them also or you could just eliminate it.i was told by my mechanic that the alluminum ones do not have the baffles inside like the stock ast to seperate the bubbles. so i just eliminated it and have had no problems.

Has anyone used the above mentioned AST? It looks pretty nice and the site says it is only $80.

I'm using a AST made by Les D. he had a link for them posted a while back. The fit and quality were top notch. I am very pleased with it.

The stock AST _does not_ have any internal baffles at all. I have mine in two pieces at home - i can take pics if no-one believes me !

The design is just as you see it on the outside. Only things i noticed were that the bottom inlet is obout 9mm OD but only has a very small internal hole - about 2-3mm ID, same for the overflow out of the top of the filler neck, though the ID is about 4-5mm there.

Thats it - nothing special at all.

Im getting some made up in polished aluminium here in the UK - price will be about £100 which is roughly $140, but the welds and finish will be faultless - of course it does rule out you US guys buying them - sorry !

Well, I have got the go-ahead from Jason to post another AST group buy, only I posted it in the vendor forum by accident. Maybe Jason can move it into the GB section.

Here is the link as it stands:
Group Buy AST

If you want to get in on this one, please feel free to do so. I am looking at securing a minimum of 10 orders by Friday the 9th so that I can order the filler necks in a timely manner.

I have 7 prospects so far, so keep them coming.

Drive safe everyone!
