Difference b/w Factory Service & Workshop Manuals for FD

I just bought an FD. I now need THE BEST repair manual out there. What is the difference between the factory service manual & the workshop manual? Is there one manual that is the best?

**Note - If anyone tells me "Haynes" they will be stabbed in the eye with a spork.

I have booth the FSM (green cover small size complete) and I have the factory service manuals. While I haven't compared them verbatem they appear to have tha same contents. I've found that the factory manuals can be read (at my age) without glass's where the smaller complete book requires some heafty magnifacation to read. So if your twenty something no problem. There will no one mentioning Haynes on here as they don't make one for the FD. I believe they have the smaller complete book for all three year's (there are some difference's) mostly electrical. Jack

How much did it cost to print all that off? & I'm surprised they'd print it for you... seems like it'd be copyrighted...

I think it's just different names for the same thing. There are 2 versions - the "small" book and the "big" dealer copy. The dealer copy books are loose-leaf in a giant 3-ring binder - the small book is a typical perfect-bound book, about the size of one of those mini phone books.

The small book has the body electrical troubleshooting guide built into it, and it's a separate book for the large dealer copy. The small book also has the wiring diagram in it.

I'd just get the small book - it's like $70-80, and you're good to go. I actually prefer the small one over the large one - easier to lug around the car and look stuff up. I have a small '93 book and a full '95 dealer shop manual (as well as various FC shop manuals).
