Diff or tranny?

Yesterday I dropped the clutch at 6k RPM and the first gear never engaged, I achieved to do 10 kms to go back home...

When I was cornering, HARD sounds were coming from the rear... When I was going straight, it seemed OK.

Today I went to my job (5 kms) with the car. It never came back, now 1-2-3-4-5 doesn't engage, BUT reverse does! I jacked the rear wheels and I hear some hard sounds coming from the diff when I manually turn the rear wheels, by hand.

I'm pretty sure I broke a gear in the diff.

But why is the reverse working? I'm hearing some sounds when I go reverse BUT it still works!

Sounds to me like you broke your diff. You can probably buy one from your local rx-7club -- No wait, you can't, you're banned.

And please stop sending me threats via PM on this forum. Thank you.

when you're going straight and you engage the VTEC does it spin like a bad clutch or its taking the torque?

Now even if I go straight, the VTEC seems too strong!

I had to move the car 2 kms... I used reverse... Now the clutch doesn't work anymore, I need to stop the car, engage R, crank and hope it'll start. I wanna be sure it's the diff... I can't understand why the clutch doesn't work... (clutch pedal feels empty)

Great idea, I'll remove the driving shaft and I'll start the car. Then, if I hear really strange sounds while engaging 1-2-3-4-5, I'll know the problem is my tranny (I'll also be prepared for oil spills).
