I don't imagine it's more than a few bolts (two big ones?), a drive shaft, and the two axles holding it in.

Never removed my differential housing. But if it helps, I know you don't have to remove the axles from the hubs.

It's not that hard, but you have to R&R a bunch of stuff.

1) Drain diff oil.
2) Drop the exhaust from DP flange back, and tunnel braces and undercovers.
3) Pop the axles out of the diff as in the above linked thread.
4) Remove the driveshaft.
5) Support the trans with a jackstand or similar, and get a jack up to the diff.
6) Remove PPF. Make sure trans and diff are well supported.
7) Remove two diff mount nuts, then carefully remove bolts, make sure diff isn't going to fall off jack.
8) Lower diff.
9) Reinstall in reverse. Line up the diff mount bushings with the subframe slots carefully as you jack the diff up into place. As soon as you get the bolts through the bushings, it's a lot safer to work underneath.

Be very careful under there when the diff is balanced on the jack! You DO NOT want that thing falling on you! It's probably 80lb or so, and could seriously injure you. If you are swapping in an entire new diff, you should try balancing the diff case on your jack to get an idea of where it should be centered when you lower the one that's on there now. If it's off-balance, and you remove the diff mount bolts, it could quickly fall.

Joe posted a pretty good list there^. You could also use a cheap trans strap attachment on your jack to make sure the diff doesn't take a free fall.
