Did Vac line job, now 10-8-10-13-8
Hi folks,
Recently did vac line job and am now getting great boost pattern on primary. At transition,, I get a rapid 10-8-10 recovery followed by a spike to 13-14 psi. After the spike, the boost falls to a steady 8 psi to redline.
The weather is cold 35-40 degrees.
Car has RB cold air duct, 3" downpipe, stock cat, and RB dual-tip exhaust. Stock ecu. Compression is great: 8.7+ on all rotors.
During the vac job all solenoids were tested and all check valves were replaced. Charge control actuator was also replaced.
I could use any insght folks have. What seems strange is that there is a boost spike at transition, but then boost falls to 8psi above that. If the car was overboosting, then I would have expected it to be at least 10psi all the way to redline.
Not sure what the boost pattern was before...this is a customers car and it had big fuel leak issues when I got it - hence no "before" numbers.
Both restrictor lines have pills.

Oh ****, here we go again lol
If the car is running strong that sounds like a pretty safe boost pattern. The stock ECU will dump in a ton a fuel at transition and having it bleed back to 8 is great for keeping it rich up top. Brilliant tuning job.
If you want a normal boost pattern just crack a couple check valves and loosen some hoses. These cars can't handle some nutty **** professor doctoring around with everykind of engine gadgetry known to mankind.

Doug,
I will re-check this morning, but I believe the spike hits around 5k or so. By 6kish, it's back to 9 psi. Car goes through transition great - best 10-8-10 response have seen on an fd, but then spikes immediately afterward. Almost seems like there is too much pre-control spool up...but I guess it could just be cool weather.
