9 months ago car died one day, battery and alternator was replaced.

Two weeks ago same problem, car started dying over the span of two days until it finally died on me at a drive-thru. Replaced the battery and ran fine for a week or two until it finally died out again.

Took it in "yup the alternator is bad" (and this is a pretty reputable shop, only one around here I take my car to. They usually work on porsches etc..

Well that was last Friday and tonight same thing happened and its dead.

Weird thing when I got it back the gauge lights, battery light, and exhaust overheat light would light up when you first started it, gas it to 3000rpm for a second and they turned off and ran smoother then it has in a while. Two days later those same lights all came on while driving and went off when coming to a stop this time.

Now its just dead again, so anyone run into anything similar? the lights?. Something electrical has got to be messed up or shorting somewhere.

Thanks for any help, this is really becoming a pain in the ***. The 7 has been good to me other then this crap, and these guys said they checked over the whole car. (Note: the first new alternator they tried worked for 10 minutes then died, so they had to get another one. I took my old one in to return on warranty, tested it, Autozone said it was good gave me a print out etc...ugh).

hate to say it but what u saying about the lights sounds exactly like an alternator failure again,,, I used to start car and lights for low coolant low oil level, battery and exaust warning where lit,,,, once you revved the car the lights would dim and turn off but as soon as it idled again they would be back,,,, i replaced my alternator with a recon unit car has been fine ever since.
