Deleting TCS
Deleting TCS
I searched and couldn't come up with anything. Does anybody know how to delete the stock traction control system or hook up a kill switch to it? If people are confused by what I'm talking about, I mean the rapid caliper firing that goes on when the wheels break loose in a straight line. It happens a lot if there is snow on the ground and I let off the gas with the clutch still engaged. When the rears start to slide, they bounce like crazy. Please don't reply to this and say, "There is no traction control". I'm not looking for Racelogic or another traction option, I'd just like to know how to turn it off. Thanks,

That sounds like the abs. Try taking out the fuse for abs and that should take care of it, not sure how good this is to do but I have heard of people taking it out to disengage it.
Def. the abs, as there isn't a factory TCS on the FD's. I haven't ever had mine 'fire' when letting off the gas real hard, but in snow they are pretty sensitive and do really 'go off' when braking alot.
Remove the fuse, or remove the abs all together if you really don't like it.

Yeah, wheel hop sucks no matter what. We put a set of M2 trailing arms on Dan's FD about a month ago and the thing still hopped. More rapid and smaller hops, but it was still there. I'm not about to disengage the ABS, but what I don't understand is why I'm experiencing these kinds of hops, even in the snow when I'm not applying the brake. It doesn't seem logical that the rear wheels will hop when they start to slip backwards in the snow (release throttle with clutch engaged = deceleration force applied to drivetrain...reverse slipping). If this is just a wheel hop everywhere type of problem, would larger, heavier wheels solve it? I'm not about to waste money on trailing arms if they only put more noise through the chassis.
