defi link controller ?

i was wondering where did everyone that has the defi link controller, connect the ignition wire? my gauges all turn on (illumination works) and also 12v to battery and ground are grounded correctly, but none of the gauges function nor the controller when depressing the buttons... i'm probably overlooking a small mistake in my connection.

I connected all my wires from the wires under the shifter area, using the vampire clips that came with the defi gauges. Such as the lights that power the "exhast overheat" and to one of the switches....

i'm using the 'soderless connectors' that are provided, but still looking for a source to connect the IGG (orang) ignition 12v wire...

theres a 12v ignition source near the kick panel on driver's side, thats mounted on the firewall. use a spade plug to tap the power source. Do your gauges go through the opening sequence? if you have defi BF gauges, they go into the meter link 2, if you have regular defi link gauges they go into meter link 1

the gauges only lights up when i turn on my headlights... which the illumination wire is connected correctly, along with the 12v red power wire and ground wire. the orange 12 igg wire is the only wire i'm looking for a connection... the link controller lights up but doesn't operate once you start the car... pressing the peak button or any other buttons don't operate... which at first, i had connected the igg ignition wire to my knock meter orange wire. i don't have a turbo timer, which another forum member mentioned to connect to the igg wire...

the illumination wire just serves as a dimmer, so when you turn on your headlights the gauges will dim. i wouldn't tap into any wires that you don't have to, connect your 12v ignition source to the one i told you about, its right near your feet, you'll need a spade plug to connect into it. do your gauges work (not light up but are they actually functional)?

Could one of you guys who have the Defi gauges take pictures and post them? Both day and night; i.e. with car lights turn on and off?

I'm considering getting these, but not sure how they would look. Thx!

if you think you have everything right and you can only see the gauges with lights on, swap the output for the gauges on the back.

youll have two outputs, whichever output the wire is in now, swap it to the other.

I had exactly the same problem and using output 2 fixed it.
