decided on wheels but need help with sizes
I am thinking of going with 17's. I know that I am going with 8.5 in the rear but should I go with 8.5 in the front or just 7.5? Furthermore, I plan on running 225 or 235 in front but what can I fit on the back with 8.5?
also what offsets do I need? I hate to sound stupid but what do the offsets mean and how do I know which offsets I need?
Thanks in advance.

Factory wheels are 8 in wide. I don't think any thing in that size should have a problem fitting. If people can fit 19x10.5 on the back and 18x9.5 on the front you won't have a problem. I think you should at least go with 9in wide all the way around.

First stock is 16x8 with 50mm offset... why would you want to go 17x7.5 ?
Please tell us the wheel you are intereted in...
Then tell us the sizes avail. for this wheel.
Then tell us what kind/size rubber you want to run.
Then there are plenty of us to help you out...

I did not even know what the size of wheel I had on there already. I don't know too much about wheels, YET. I am trying to learn. I was looking at the Maxi RT in gunmetal. Here is the link: http://www.faswheels.com/products/wheels/rt_maxi.htm
I want to go with at least 10 in the back but they do not have them in that size. They are about 250 each and weigh about 17 lbs. I don't have 2500 to spend on wheels and tires so I was trying to find a quality product that I liked for cheaper.
I want to run at 225's or 235's in the front and around 255 or 265 in the rear.

Ok looking at the website I would serious consider running 17x8.5 all the way around...with the 42mm offset
245x40 and 255x40 would be a couple choices...although 255 might be pushing it in the front with a 42mm offset..
There is always 17x8/17x8.5 combo..with a 235/255 stagger..would lokk nice

where can I find wheels a decent price that have a good selection? I love the volks and some of the blitz wheels but dang, I got to sell my car in order to pay for them...hehehe. I would rather spend the money on intercooler, injectors, etc. if I am going to be spending around 2500.

Something important to remember when changing wheels on your FD. It is best to stay very close to a 24 1/2 inch tall tire (this is more important on the front than it is on the rear). The width does not matter as much as the overall height. If you want to, you can run 18X10's all the way around with 285/30/18's. This combo has the same exact height as the stock wheels w/ 225/50/16.
You can always research tires at www.tirerack.com . they have specs for almost all of the tires they sell. You can tell there how tall a tire is.
Oh yeah, good luck finding a 10" rear wheel and not paying out the $$.
IMO, the hot street setup for the FD would be 17X9 F w/ 255/40's and 17X10 R w/ 275/40's.
