Decided to rebuild myself, what to expect

So yeah I reckon its time I stop ***** footing around with boltons and try rebuilding my engine. I think shes a bit sick anyway but regardless I wanna have a go and I got sh*t loads of time amd a bit of cash so I may as well get into it.

As I'm sure theres many of you who have done this and with some success and failure so maybe you guys can let me know what to expect

cheers

Watch the rebuild video.

Use new OEM parts.

Start with, and maintain a CLEAN work area.

Plan for a hiccup here and there... Crank bolt can be a bitch sometimes. So can getting the oil pan to seal the first time. It's good fun though!

tools ?? i'm doing my first rebuild and the only tools i had to buy were a 54mm socket and bar at a local hardware......$50 and a dial test indicator b/c no local shops have one or heard of one, pineapple has them.......$69. Surely you have a good socket set and feeler gauges.....we have them here in Arkansas so no excuses..... Good luck spekdah and keep us posted, i'm gonna have to make a thread since i'm doing my 1st !!

This may sound stupid, but it saved my *** a few times during my rebuild. Sit down and write out the major steps of the rebuild. I have a pretty big dry erase board on my garage wall that I used, but a clipboard and a sheet of paper will do just fine. The idea here is to have a "dry run" of sorts, and a checklist to work from (you just have to remember to stop and look at it ).
