Dead before I could even touch it :(

I can sit here and have a friend crank over the engine and just watch the front hub walk back and forth about a 1/8th on an inch.
Gotta love hayes!!

Anyone want to guess what motor is going into this car?

That's Hayes for ya. I can't believe they are still in business.

Was that car in the salvage yard just because the engine is dead? It looks to be in perfect condition.

Is the next engine a 20B or LS1?

Haha yeah he has a few...

But im kinda ticked looking at it now. Turbo's are shot, air box was jbwelded, most the pipes were cracked or not even clamped down. Theres 2 dents and its very obviouse the car has been re painted, and the headlamps + bumper repainted/placed. Clean title though....

I am a bit concerned. This is destin to be a 20b car, if the car has been tweaked at all, if I order the new sub frame and it dosent bolt in, im screwed!
Im half tempted to start looking for a clean shell....

Heres my question of the day:
I put the battery in and the passenger fan on the radiator turns on. It will not shut off when I remove the key, it just drains the battery down. Why?

Hmmmm
looking at pg Z-41 (You DO have the skeematz doncha?? ) if either fan relay 2 or 4 is fub ducked (i.e., contacts closed with or without the relay being energized), then the fan will be on.

Relay 3 doesn't figure into it, it supplies an additional ground to both fans, if it or the thermostat switch were closed all the time, I think both fans would come on. Likewise Relay 1 supplies 12 VDC to both fans.... if it were closed all the time, again, both fans would come on.

Try swapping relays 2 & 4. If the drvrz side now stays on, you found the problem. At least you can isolate it and prolly pick up a coupla good relays in the parts section. If that DOESN'T switch which fan stays on.... then somehow the pssgr side fan is getting current that is bypassing relay 1 or 4 (very wierd and unlikely)

Keep us posted.

Yes I have the FSM, but I havent read it yet. I decided to just tear into things .
This car has a brand new mazda OEM wiring harness and ALL new soliniods along with vacume lines, its awsome. No brittle wires for me .
