DBW Throttle pedal for RX7 FD
HI,
Looking for a suitable DBW throttle pedal for an RX7 FD.
Has anyone found one close to the right size?
Adaptor brackets not an issue, just needs to be similar shape and size.
(I tried a Bosch APS-502 but they're way to big.

The rx-8 pedal is an option, it just needs a bracket made. Z Precision also makes an LS DBW Throttle Pedal Mount which fits 2010-2015 5th Gen Camaro Pedal PN# 22741799.
I initially pulled an rx-8 pedal from a junk yard, then got the z precision mount for the camaro pedal.

A second thumbs up/recommendation for the FD DBW pedal mount married to a 2015 Camaro foot pedal. AZieger is the forum member who can answer any questions regarding his product.
Note: A potential benefit to utilizing a GM foot pedal is the aftermarket options of mating a souped-up throttle controller such as the one below:

2005-06 GTO sits a little lower than stock, but can use the RX-7 pedal base to raise it

I've got the RX8 pedal in my FD, previous owner installed it. Has a fabricated bracket that looks a lot like the Z-precision piece, but I don't know where the PO got it from. Anyway, the RX8 pedal fits & works well - has the right sizing & orientation/height to make for easy heel & toe shifting, at least with my feet.

Has anyone tried 5th gen camaro pedal with the GA cover to match oem brake and clutch pedals?

I personally prefer the plastic accel pedal, they're plastic for the exact reason the other pedals are aluminium, weight. The accel pedal is never going to see the same forces the clutch and particularly brake pedals do, so making it out of lighter plastic makes sense. But, a matching aluminium face on an e-throttle pedal would be the next best thing :-).

I used a Cadillac CTS pedal and a Samberg-copy bracket. Looks mildly better than the 5th gen Camaro, similarly cheap and has been very reliable.

The only measurable issue I see, when comparing a large single plate DBW throttle to the stock TB is you might not be able to get the car to idle happily quite as low as the stock 800-ish RPM range. The lower idle limit on mine (90mm DBW) seems to be about 900RPM, which I suspect is just driven by the size of the throttle plate.

(1) The lack of primary / secondary transition can be somewhat mitigated by the fact you can tune the ratio between the pedal and throttle opening. This allows you to have, say, the first 50% of accelerator pedal mapped to 0-10% throttle opening, while the last 50% is from 11-100% throttle opening. This gives greater resolution and feel over throttle opening and response. Pretty much as Pete_89T2 has achieved.
(2) A single DBW throttle body is not the only way to accomplish DBW. As explained in my build log (see AusRotary - Login), there are both OEM and aftermarket external DBW actuators that drive a stock throttle body via a linkage. BMW has used these systems on their inline engines with multiple throttle bodies (eg Z4, M6 etc). The HP Academy FD has used one of these mated to a standard 13BREW throttle body. This way you get DBW and primary / secondary transition.
(3) You do not need to replace the entire accelerator pedal with a DBW version. There are several OEM DBW applications which use an external rotary position sensor driven by a standard accelerator cable, for example certain models Peugot and Hondas (eg S2000, Accord etc). This allows you to retain the factory pedal and may provide a more conventional pedal feel than a pedal with no cable resistance behind it. It is also a nice and compact solution that is probably cheaper - as you can find these at wreckers very cheap. I provide a few examples in my build log (see AusRotary - Login).
For convenience here is a photo of a S2000 DBW pedal position sensor - no pedal modifications required:
