Dash light is on.. what does it mean?

hey, i did try to find it out on my own but i figure someone here will know.
I have a dash light on that im not sure what it means. It is on the left hand side of the steering wheel and it looks like a catalytic converter and has heat lines coming out of it. It comes on and off intermittenly. i figure it is something to do with the exhaust but im not sure. Car does have aftermarket exhaust so that could have something to do with it.
any help is appriciated thanks!

Overheat exhaist system maybe? Usually that light is is on the middle console, but perhaps RX-7s in Europe have them there...?

Has the car got an Apexi Power FC ECU, or the standard ECU?

If the standard ECU, its a warning the the cat is seeing too much heat. If it's the Apexi ECU then it's a warning light for a sensor, or too high a knock value detected.

If it's JDM then it does sound like the cat overheat light. Does it happen when you're give it a bit of a welly? Hard driving, etc?
