WOW! So you mean the long bolt to line up for the alternator?
Are you aware how the whloe alternator mounting set up works? There's the pivot bolt (long one) and then the adjusting bolt/Tee nut/tie down nut assembly. To install the alternator, you put in the pivot bolt, run the adjusting bolt (other long one that's threaded along its entire length) down into the Tee nut, which is the barrel shaped dealy with a threaded hole through the side of it and a bolt coming out the top of the barrel. The threaded section coming out the top of the little barrel (these descriptions are sucking, I know!) goes into the hole in the right of the alternator. To adjust, you loosen the pivot bolt, loosen the nut that holds the adjusting nut (the barrel thingie), then turn the long fully threaded adjusting bolt clockwise. This pulls the barrel closer to the top of the mounting bracket, which tightenes the belt. Follow the manual for tighteneing amounts, and DON'T overtighten. After that, tighten up the pivot bolt, and the adjusting lock nut (the one on the barrel threaded portion).
Did ANY of that make sense?

Damn ... just reminded me that I forgot to tighten up my pivot bolt
Hey the alternator it a PITA, no doubt about it, but don't give up.
Try removing the small water hose that's just behind the long pivot bolt. I've found that this adds just enough clearance to get the thing in.

That was homo...
ok got everything back on and started her with difficulty she hated turning over and i think i need a new batt. and for some reasone there is coolant leaking by the overflow resivoir now. not alot actually, and she still topped off when i open the filler cap just when i turn off the motor. what could this be? and ALSO. WHY THE HELL WONT THE ADD COOLANT LIGHT TURN OFF?! that damn buzzer is killin me. BTW i got everything on by taking off the water pump pulley again and then puttin the alternator on and then re doing the PITA job that is putting the pulley back on. but everything is on and tight and she turns over with difficulty and sometimes stalls out. but i know it isnt coolant seals because new motor. just now i gotta find where is leaking from on the overflow side. i know it has to be something with the over flow cause i poured some water in the overflow and it leakd st8 out onto the floor. GOD i hate this shyt. grrrr...any help is once again mych appreciated.
