Daily driver, or not?
Can't stand the thought of adding miles to my '94 touring (35K) unless it's just for fun on the weekend.
The car's too valuable to be driven daily in commuter traffic where it can be hit by some POS on the way to work.
That's why God made daily drivers.
Opinions?

I do drive it... about 2 to 3K a year. I appreciate it more by taking it out sparingly.
It does look awesome just parked in the garage, I don't think there have been too many cars produced with nicer lines.
I just can't see firing it up to go to the grocery store or work. These drives aren't fun anyway. I'd rather hit an occasional autocross or track event on the weekend.
If these cars become valuable in the future, say 10 years down the road, it will be nice to have a low mileage example completely stock...

Sesshoumaru hit that on the head! Ahhahaha
I have been doing a ton of reading and searching. The FD is not all that bad pending on your driving style. I will have mine all year with a set of snow tires for those days when I want to go sledding to work, the store, and hopefully no trees. F-it. Its a car, enjoy the damn thing.

Driving it sparingly might make it seem more special, but imagine all the fun times you're missing by not driving it all the time. It could be so much more fun.
I'm all about saving the FDs for the future, but if you're thinking of this car as an investment, you're dead wrong. No car is a sound investment, its an expensive toy. Cars depreciate, thats what they do. It's not going to be valuable in the future, so enjoy it while it works.

Agreed, except Duesenburg, Shelby cobra, Mercedes 300sl owners found that their cars did become valuable after time. I'm not putting the FD in this category, but I think that in 10 years a collector will spend decent $$$ to get a good example of a high performance rotary powered car that more than held its own with more expensive makes.
Because the car is everything you stated above, there will be buyers. The fewer the number of ad's in the paper the more the seller can ask.
I guess we will all have to wait to see what the future holds for FD prices. Even high production number cars that initially depriciated, turned around and increased in value...E.G. Ford Mustang.

I've put about 60k miles on my FD. She's got 90k before I finally decided to get a daily driver.
I've had to repaint the front bumper several times because of chips. I need to replace the windsheild because of thousands of tiny little road debris chips on it.
Sure it's a car, and you should drive it, but I don't like subjecting it to constant torture. I drive mine every few weekends or so, and everytime I do, I make sure to get her up to triple digits One long weekend drive in the FD more than makes up for stop and go driving in it over the week.

I got my car with 47K on it. That was about 2 years ago, I got a new Engine and Tranny and Turbos at 60k. The car was like that when i bought it. The guy before me was a rich guy that only used it for auto cross. So the body and interior was perfect. But the mechanical was a diffrent story. Thank god for extened warenty. Got it all replaced for free. Now its got 67k one it. It is my daily driver in the summer. 95' Geo Tracker takes care of me in the winter months.
