Custom hood, Z3 kind-of oppenning @ air filer area

I was searching around to find if anyone with aftermarket filters made they're stock hood or thought about making a small oppenning at the filers area (only), something like the Z3 style, to get some cold air in that place, I beleive that little oppenning would help also the turbo to cool of or stay cooler while driving?

I know that the head light cover oppenning is more for looks and basicaly does not do any help realy, so I was wondering or trying to do something that has good effect on performance direction.

Thanks for reading.

Leave the Z3 to BWM. If you want vents, get a aftermarket hood. Click over to the rx7store.net and see what they've got, or rotary extreme.

AMEN!!!! the problem with the Z3 vents is that they are too closely related with the riceroni

And the louvers aren't pointed into the airflow, but away from it...

Perhaps you should post a picture. I'm not seeing anything on the Z3 hoods that could be of any use.

i think its better to just go with a true cold air intake system/duct because i like things being fairly symetrical. As far as cooling of the turbos are concerned, i suggest a nice scoot hood

Just don't do one of those DIY hood vents using shop vac parts for vents. A car I looked at buying had just that, and he matched the paint with Krylon's best LOL.

This damn forum is not allowing me to upload pix for days,

What I'm realy thinking is more like invisible thin cut lines behind the pass. side head light and is not for looks, yet I want it to look neat at the same time.
My intentions are to build some sort of insulation from the engine bay and have filters breath only cold air.
I definitely woulnd't go with a hood scoop or one of those open hood, I don't like'em.

John.
