The problem there is most people don't post up the actual sale price (vs the asking price).

I'd imagine anywhere between 10-12k for the majority of them, but prices are rising.

I've seen some go for under 10, and car's that sell for over 16k.

It depends on the area. Here in AZ, prob. 9k-15k for 93. 12k-20k for 94-95

Also do a search. There more than one thread about how much people have paid for their FD's, though it's usually filled by owners that got theirs cheap.

values have gone down despite ff3. it is hard to sell an fd for more than 13k these days unless it is usper modded or low mileage. my opinion.

NADA shows the Value of my 94 at $12,000. Binary89 FYI, NADA was put together by insurance companies to rip people off.
KBB was $18,500 last time I looked.

A good condition relatively stock 94-95 FD should gor for $15-18k. Heavily modded cars are all over the place in value and are per-case values I'd think.

Of the last 2 FDs I have seen a Morries Mazda/Maserati they had 2 black 93s. Both relatively stock. One with 3k miles on it for $39k with red on black leather and the other for $17k with tan on black with 73k.

Any FD under $15k is either a good deal you're lucky to find or needs alot of attention.

A few weeks ago, my neighbor sold his clean 93 MB Touring w/ 100+k miles on the original motor with M3 intake/exh package and RB springs for $19k and a bunch of parts with it. He sold it to a guy in Florida (3000 miles away). Now there are only 2 RX7s left on my street.

Yeah I'm not too sure about the $10-12k folks. That sounds like you're getting into trouble. I bought my 93 MB Touring with 77k'ish for $14k, which I thought was reasonable (not overpaying, not getting a Huge deal).

NADA is actually not run by insurance companies. and if you can find info to prove that it is, I'll be very interested to see it. I actually just NADA'd my car much lower than I thought, but I believe that's because NADA works from "selling" price instead of "value". I'd say it's semi-effective for the vehicles that are being sold a few years old, but when you look at the "selling price" of an Rx7, it can vary from $1k (non-rolling shell) to $40k (well modified).

No one can really give you a straight answer to the current value of a 3rd gen Rx7 without more info on what you're looking for. The answers I see seem typically low (which I would expect on the forum) for a decent conditioned FD. Perhaps if you gave more info on what you were looking for, we would be able to steer you a little closer to what you want.

My example would be a slapped up FD for $9k that looks good, but you'll have issues with, vs a lightly modded (but with good intentions) FD with higher mileage for $17k. Given the price, and looking at what they have done, it may very well be a better bet to pass on the cheaper if you don't know what you're getting into. You could easily spend $9k for the car, $2k in repairs, and then $3k to get it reliable (if you're letting a shop do the work). In that case, you already have $14k into a car that is going to be severely outdone by one that you could've just waited to get for a little more. Just my .02, and not saying I did the right thing. I could still be persuaded to pick up another Rx7 with mods I agree with if the price was right

That's my sense of the market as well. I bought my '94 back 04/2000, it was stock and had 53k miles on it. I paid $15,800, which was a very good price back then. It now has just under 70k miles, and it looks like I could sell it for what I paid or better. A year or two back, the market looked like I was down $1-2k on it.

Good condition FDs with tasteful mods will continue to increase in value.

With a set of aftermarket wheels these cars look better than a new Vette. Best thing FDs cost under $20K. Can't touch a vette, porche, or other worthy sport cars for less than $50K.

Of course if the RX7 market died out, our cars would barely cost nothing.

Supply & Demand.

Smile Current Resale

I purchased my 93 FD3 in 2/2005 with 76,339 miles for $13.5. The car came with mods and upgrades:
Engine: M2 original cold air intake with two K&N filters; M2 stock mounted intercooler with Greddy elbow; M2 3" downpipe;HKS Superdraeger cat-back exhaust with Bonez hi-flo catalytic converter; M2 Stage3 ECU; pillar mounted water temp and boost gauges by Autometer, AST bypass; silicone bottom radiator hose, M2 upgraded radiator; zip-tied vacuum hoses.

Suspension: ADR Kasai wheels, front 18x8; rear 18x9 with Toyo T1's Proxies tires (2003). Koni adjustable yellow, H & R springs;
Body: Rear warrior wing spoiler. Side and rear skirts. Front Mask and Bra by Colgan

I have since spent another $ 10k in replacement and upgrades.
So I would said if i m going to sell it ... If I were to sell it would be for at least $ 21K. Resale value...is another story might get $ 18k.

I'm sure NADA won't come right out and say it but this is what I heard.
My insurance advisor told me to be aware of companies that uses NADA to determine the value of your car. Allstate uses KBB and there has to be some reason why their is a $6000 difference in the RX-7 anyways.....

I've used NADA and KBB over the years and found both to be useful. While, the NADA RX-7 value may be lower than the KBB one, NADA is often slightly higher for other cars that I am familiar with.

I'm amazed that some people still maintain that modifications add value to car. In almost all cases, they don't. Yes, if you have $40k of modifications, you may be able to get a few thousand over the value of a stock car, but it will probably take far longer to sell too.

The FDs that have the best resale value have the lowest miles and the lowest amount of modifications.

From my body shop days NADA was more or less a wholesale guide where KBB is more for retail.. At the dealership I worked for KBB was quoted for used car sales if no trade in was involved. Otherwise NADA was used and at least in those days it was also around 10-20% less

Exactly. Mods have great resale value...as long as they're not bolted to the car!
