CRV at 3500 ?
Okay, I'm trying (still) to fix my low transition. I checked the TCA, it seems to get pressure and vacuum fine. I teed into the CRV and I see it's losing vacuum at 3500. I search and see someone said this is a leak in the solenoid, so I disconnect the boost line from the CRV actuator. It doesn't change the transition. I search more and find other people have the CRV closing (solenoid on, losing vacuum) at 3500. The site with boost plots (LaRacer) shows the CRV on (closed) at 3500. OTOH the shop manual (page F176) says the CRV is on (closes) if Engine speed is 4000-4500 for 8 secs or the Engine speed is over 5500. OTOH page F84 says charge relief is off until 4500, then on (closed). This is intuitive, it vents the pre-spool. Backing this up, other posts say you can disconnect the CRV from the airbox and hear it blow air from 3500-4500. But clearly it won't blow air if it is closed. Also people see pressure build in the second turbo during pre-spool, which wouldn't happen if the CRV was venting. Anyone know which is correct ?
