Crooked Willow Oil Cooler Group Buy Participants

Hey for the guys that got in on the oil cooler group buy, or I guess anyone who had done one, I was just wondering how the install went for you.

Mine didn't work exaxctly per the instructions but I got it all in. I had some trouble with the thermostat rubbing the radiator fan and shroud but nothing a handfull of zip ties couldn't fix.

So far no leaks other than a little oil we spilled removing pipes. I also put in a racing radiator and a Tri Point air separator tank so I have a lot to keep an eye on for a little while.

Hope everyone else is having good luck with theirs.

Het Ralgh,
I dont know if things have changed w/ the kit since I installed it. But a problem I had w/ aluminum radiator is the return oil line running below radiator w/ no slack. My steel braided hose filed very easily thru soft aluminum 2x and caused a small hole in radiator. There was hardly any movement in the hose, but just enough to work its way thru the radiator like a hot knife thru butter. I eventually stuffed as much padding as I could between the two pieces. Just a heads up.

Yeah mine runs below the radiator. I used one of the clamps to hold it away from the radiator I used heater hose on a lot of the piping but I can't remember if I put some there. I think I will give that another check. When I put things back together thre was almost an inch clearance but things move a little bit when you aren't looking.

I have found a leak in my big project but it was the upper radiator hose where it attaches to the engine, not anything to do with the oil cooler. The clamp is on good and tight but coolant is still getting by.
