crc weld

now that im not working i have all this time on my hands and i thought i would try to pull my engine and replace my o-rings (i am in no way mechanically inclined)

awhile back i did the crc block weld "fix" .. while i was taking apart my radiator i noticed one of the coolant hoses felt like it was caked with the copper weld, i tried scrubbing the inside of the hose but the weld is baked into it

my questions are:
do i need to replace my whole cooling system?
can i undo the damages the weld has done to my cooling system (ie clean it out of my engine once i open it up)?
how would i know if my radiator is still good or if theres some weld in it?
i believe my heater core is blocked because it used to be really hot but after the crc i dont get much heat .. does this mean i need to replace it?

help me forum gurus

search on the heater core, i read a post awhile ago where somebody hooked an in line pump to the heater core & let it flow backwards with some sorta cleaner in there. if i remember they said it worked to clean it out. your rad i would pull & take it to a rad shop for cleaning/testing.

Exhibit A as to why I never recommend the block weld 'fix'

It's not like you weren't warned:

You are most likely going to need to replace anything that is remotely clogged.
