Believe it or not, but this stuff actually works. I used it once and my friends car is still running after one year. You are suppose to drain the cooling system, flush it completely with water and then put the castrol purple degreaser stuff(I used simple green), then run the car and then flush it completely with water and then put in a bottle of block weld and run or drive the car for 15-30 mins and then let the car cool down completely over night. then drain the stuff out and fill with coolant/water. This isnt the exact procedure but thats how i did it and it worked. You may have to do it twice. I used two bottles of this stuff instead of one and i took out the thermostat when i did this.

I'll vouch for the K&W block weld which is probably the same thing. I was getting the coolant light about every day, the car wouldn't start when it was hot, and on cold mornings it looked like the smokestack on a freight train for a couple of minutes. Ran the stuff through once and the starting problems stopped. I still blow coolant out of my overflow if I completely fill the system, but after two weeks the coolant light hasn't come on anymore. I just have to leave the AST about half empty to keep it from overflowing. Give it a try...you really have nothing to lose. I'm going to do it one more time just for good measure. Getting all the coolant out is a major beeyaatch, though!

I used a coolant flush machine at work, i empty the machine and put in all water and ran the car with the machine, as the car runs, the machine pumps out the old stuff and puts in all water, thats why i took out the thermostat. You can accomplish the same thing by buying one of those Prestone coolant flush kits, its like $10. It really helps to also clean the coolant passages and then rinse it well and refill with water and then put the block weld in.

it works

Yah... the stuff works! I've put about 10,000 miles on my car since I've added the stuff. Good shiet. I did however have to add more after a couple of hard runs.

One thing that was recommended to me before you add the CRC... is make sure you flush out the cooling system thoroughly... make sure the heater is on when you do this. It's also highly recommended that you use distilled water.

After you add the CRC... you may need to burp the system, which may require that you continue to "top off" the filler neck for the first couple of days.

Good luck!

B.

Duh..........whenever you feel like it! (It does not matter when you put it in - before or after adding fresh distilled H20 - just leave it in for a week, it won't hurt anything)

Just make sure yo add the block weld stup to a clean cooling system that doesnt have coolant in it, thats when it works best. After i added the coolant/water at the end i just dumped another bottle of that stuff in there and left it in there. The stuff is not suppose to clog passages or small heater lines because it suppose to work on cappilary action. I think thats what its called, its been a few years since i took Chem 1A
