crc copper block weld

I did a search on this stuff and noticed only a few people have replied to using this. I want to know how long since uve used it and how long does it last? Did it save your coolant seals and save you from a rebuild, or was it temporary? Anyone used this stuff and not have it work, or have seen negative side effects as a result?

Ran with downpipe and exhaust as a daily car and a lot of autoxing. I think I put about 15K on it after treatment before I lost an apex seal at 98,000 (not cooling related). Follow the instructions and give it a shot; nothing to loose.

Fixed my coolant seal, too. I've been on it for about 2 months now. Car was smoking, wouldn't start, and the coolant light came on about every day before I used it. I have to leave my AST half-empty to allow for the exhaust gasses, but other than that everything's working perfectly now.

I'm surprised you couldn't find anything with the search, though. There's been at least two long threads about it in the past few months.

I did find stuff, I've heard a lot of ggod things about it, but i'm wondering if there were any BAD side effects or bad stories related to using this stuff.....cuz in those previous long threads it is just one or two people's testimony, and they were only positive, so I just wanted to hear more about it

Actually, I used K&W copper block weld in a brown can with a top that looks like an old beer. Think it's all probably the same.

Not sure of any downsides...

The K&W stuff is different than the CRC. But then again there are other formulations as well that have been on the market for 50 years. I've only had luck with the CRC, it's been on the market for a couple of years.
99% of the time you are just wasting your money buying stuff like this - for transmissions. slipping clutches, burning oil, etc. - the list goes on and on.
Same goes for additives like Slick 50, STP, etc. It's a great way to prey on the minds of desperate (and usually ignorant) consumers that a can of "snake oil" is going to fix their car when only a true physcial repair will do the job. A few million bottles of "Miracle Cure 2000" sold every year add up to some serious corporate profits.

The CRC Copper Block Weld DOES work exceptionally well to plug pinhole leaks - permanently.

I'm not surprised that "rotary shops" have not heard of it - especially when they are trying to sell someone on a complete engine rebuild when it is not needed. It's hard for any competent mechanic to believe that a couple of $7.00 cans of "snake oil" can fix anything!

Hell, if you've got good compression, no major oil leaks and no coolant leaks you've still got a core engine that is going to run for a long time. Auto mechanics 101.
