Did someone back into you going 25 mph? And how did your insurance company arrive at the $800 figure?

You might also say that about the OP. I understand that since this was his first car, he's young and doesn't have the financial resources, but......

That oughta buff right out....

And seriously, how did the other party manage to hit you (and be found at fault) when ALL the damage is to your front end, only?

Your use of a really annoying thread title makes me certain that you were at fault.

heres how it went down

okay so it was around sunset and there i was coming home from work and i come up to a red light in the turn signal. there is a car in front of me and he does that thing when it turns right on the red light cause there's no traffic. so as i begin to pull up to turn the traffic light turns green and i start to proceed and as im making the right turn bam he hits me and im like WTF!!!!!!

so yeah he says his light was yellow witch is utter bull cause that would be impossible. but yeah thats how it went down.

heres a picture.

i hit him near the back tire and the took my front i was going to sue but my insurance said by the evidence i would lose cause it looked like he was almost out of his turn when i hit him and the only possibility would be that i was looking left i made the turn then he hit (which was exactly what happend) but it would be a long shot in court.

and they originally said they were going to give $3700 and i was like okay i can try to manage with that and then they tell me that if i want to keep the car they have to deduct like $2900 and i get to keep the car or i can have them take it to a wrecking yard and i can get the full amount and i dont want to do that so yup

Now you understand why it is important to carry under/uninsured motorist coverage. I am afraid I do not have any parts that may help you, unless you need other things than cosmetic. Good luck with the fix. I am really sorry for this unfortuneate situation.

Edit... Ok so I just read your previous post. You need to do some more fighting with your insurance. They are saying the car is only worth $3700 dollars. Which is NOT fair market value... You need to gather evidence, find other similar cars for sale, and prove that the car is worth more.

what kind of insurance do you have! they only will give you $3,700.00 for your FD. something sounds like B.S. here. have you at least looked at Kelly blue book so you can argue the price difference?

since they deemed it a total loss they cant go off of kelly blue book which i was mad about cause its worth like 16,000 for the condition it was in.

and they said the only way i could get my car fixed is if did this 50-50 deal where they fix both our cars. cause they couldnt decide who was at fault cause the way it happend it could go either way the only way would be to prove that for sure some one is lying the sad part tho is that there was a 350z that was the only witness he was behind me when it happend and he bailed like 10 minutes before the cops came to file the report.

and they said the car was worth $11,000 then since and they half that cause of the 50% crap it brings it to 5500 then all the dudutcions from state and federal **** it leaves it at 3700.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Hope you can get your insurance straightened out. Argue it, your car is worth MUCH more than they are willing to pay you.

Fight your insurance and use YOUR appraiser. I know of one who can steer you to someone local. PM for his info.

None of this makes any sense. Im guessing you only have liability insurance and you were deemed to be 50% at fault? If you have comprehensive/collision insurance then you would be getting full market value for an fd with similar miles and condition within your zip code ir 10-15k atleast. Insurance policy language stipulates that the insurance company must pay you for a replacement vehicle, not kelly blue book. The idea behind this is so you can go out and buy anther RX-7 without having to pay anything except your deductable.

If you've got collision covg there is no need for umpd insurance. Every FD should have collision coverage, it would be stupid not to, in fact I pay more for my liability covg, than my collision coverage

If he was an uninsured motorist, isn't he 100% at fault already?
