Crane Hi-6 (#6444 Sport Compact model)

Hey guys...

Sorry for previous post.....mods please delete previous one.

Just wondering if anyone here has had any issues with Crane's newest Hi-6 CD boxes (Sport Compact models, which are the same as the black box #6440).

I'm been using their older design (6000-6421) for over 2 years with no issues connected to a TurboII coil.
Recently the box stopped working.
I ordered another one and installed it. Car started normal and on the way home anything over 14psi the motor would break up real bad. Replaced the coil with an FD one.....ran good up to 17psi without the CD box. I re-installed the Hi-6 CD box and same thing happenned !!!! Motors breaks up @ 10-11psi.....sounding like baffled machine gun fire. Another coil !!!!
Replaced it with a Turbo II coil and it was normal again. Connected a MSD 6A and everything seems to be good so far.

So the Crane Hi-6 cooked 2 coils !!!! they will spark well at idle and drive fine but under boost the FD-coil breaks up @ ~11psi while the TurboII-coil is good till 14psi.
All the wiring was checked and double checked. blue wire was connected to ignition source or thin red wire.

Any input is appreciated...
