Is it possible for the turbine housing to form a crack and leak exhaust through it? If the crack was around the wastegate and was big enough to leak exhaust, would it make a unique noise as you start to build boost? What future damage could be done by having such a crack?

 

If you have a crack around Wastegate, it will bleed off boost, making it very hard to build it up to 10 or 12 psi.
