Cracked coolant filler line

Hey guys...

I ran my car for the first time in a while recently and the engine bay seemed to be hotter than normal (I remember it being hot before, but this lasted a couple of hours after a short 20 minute drive/ 20 minute idle). *The engine temp gauge never got above normal levels*. Anywho, upon searching my engine for possible problems, I found that the tube going from the coolant filler to the reservoir seems to be able to separate a bit if I move it around. The thing is, when it separates a little, there is another layer behind it (it's tough to explain) so that the inside of the line is never seen. It looks as if it is a kind of joint (kind of like earthquake proofing).

I know this all sounds stupid, but it's really difficult to explain, and hard to find answers. Could that crack be the cause of my [apparently] abnormal engine cooldown time? I'm also thinking ite could be a pre-cat problem (clogged, maybe?).

Any help on any of this would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of the water lines on the FD have a protective layer over them in some areas - maybe that's what you're seeing...
