So that's the problem:
in 5th gear slowly getting on the gas pedal no hope to go over 160Kmh
downshift to 4th absolutely no problem up to redline (7000') @210 Kmh (more or less 134 mph)
idle regular (some problems in starting it up when hot, but usually gets on at third time)
boost pattern regular, 10-8-10, installed slightly smaller pills to restore it due to clogged cats (-0.1mm each)
the problem is that the car always has been able to pass that speed in 5th
today coming home i redlined the 4th and then slammed in the 5th, no problem up to 240 Kmh (150 mph), then slowed down (forgot my radar detector on the Golf)
but, here again, when i got on the gas again in 5th, again no chance over 160 Kmh
it seems like you lift off the pedal
exactly like you feel it on the Smart (that was speed limited)
the revs stop at about 4200 or so where more or less you have the second turbo coming on
i kept it fllored and it hiccupped a bit up to 170 but no more
the weird thing is that if you downshift there are no problems at all!

rynberg gets the lap dance. FDs are only limited by the drag resistance they produce. Tom93R1 is also correct. By example, Racing Beat established a land speed record for a production base car in a 3rd gen RX-7 with an approx. 900 horsepower rotary monstrosity. Their's went something like 242 mph at Bonneville. They also used an air extractor to keep the thing from flying away into another dimension in time.

Yesterday it did it again!
but this time in 4th!!!
seem that the engine has problem in revving over (more or less) 4000
could it be the CRV faulty?
i stopped the car, shut it down and then the problem went away for the all day including today
otherwise the car runs, idles and boosts really fine
