Cooling Engine Down at Idle provokes anomaly
Cooling Engine Down at Idle provokes anomaly
Hello,
I'm new to the forums and to Rx-7's
Anyways I have a 93 RX-7 with 45,000 miles and I usually let it idle until the exhaust gas temp drops below 500C I have noticed that the EGT drop a lot faster if I have the A/C on full blast. Is this a miss sensing of the gauge or do the turbo's cool down alot faster with the A/C blowing.
Street Port
Powertrain Management Computer, with Data Acquistion Software
Greddy Profec B. Boost Controller
PFS Air-to-Air Intercooler
PFS High Flow Turbos(almost same size as stock but much better flow)
Upgraded Vacum Hoses
Cold Air Intake
PFS 3" Exhaust with downpipe
PFS Adjustable Shocks
PFS Sway Bar
PFS Race Springs
Fiske FM5 Wheels 245mm tires in front/ and 275mm tires out back
PFS Competition Brake Package
PFS Short Shift Kit
PFS HD Clutch Kit w/ lightweight flywheel
HKS Boost Guage(mounted on steering column)
HKS Exhaust Gas Temperature Guage(pillar mounted)

The fans are on all the time with the AC is switched on, which may explain your EGT results.
