i've been searching, and have only found these are the two main problems on FD's?

am i right?
im thinking of gettin an 93' RX7 which i found for 17grand and 45k miles

i know the first things i will be doing is a better cooling system, but would i just need a new radiator? or everything else...hoses, thermostat, hi pressure cap?

and APEX seals...these are hard to install right? soo a shop would have to tear the engine down wouldn't they? or would it be a cheap mod?

im really interested in this car....my goal is from a reliable street car to get me to work and a 600rwhp monster on the weekend...

Umm.....you might want to do some more research. The apex seals, the rotary engine's equivalent of piston rings, are most definately NOT easy to install. And, if you're planning on running 600hp, as you say, 3mm titanium apex seals would probably be a good idea. Look at the shop manual (www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/shop_manual.html), page C-41 to C-43.

A new radiator too, would be a necessity, if you want to run that much power.

But these cars have more problems than that. They're finicky: You can blow a coolant system o-ring; your AST can crack; the twin-turbo setup is pissy sometimes (600hp means a single turbo upgrade anyway). One overheat quite possibly means engine rebuild, so does knock of any kind.

An RX-7 is quite a different animal from a GS-R. (You do mean Integra GS-R, right?)

Now, have you actually looked into what it takes to make that much power?

600rwhp is a lot. You will need an ecu, single turbo, injectors, fuel pump, rails, etc. etc. etc.

For reliability look into an all aluminum radiator, aluminum ast(such as pettit), boost gauge, and a turbo timer. There is more but I cann't think right now.

3mm apexi seals are a pita to install. Definitly take your car somewhere to get it done and while they have the engine out get a nice stage 2 street port

soo the RX7 can't make power as eazy as a supra?
thats what im trying to say...

i was thinking that it would make twice as much power as my integra...hmmm

im just thinking about switching boats...
of course SINGLE turbo...ONE BIG ONE!

how much power can i get out of the stock turbos?
also it has to be reliable...soo i guess 16lbs of boost....on each

I don't know where everyone gets that the stock radiator isn't sufficient. I still run my stock one, Adam Saruwatari still runs his stock one, I have never had a problem. You need to run the lower shroud for the radiator to move air, but that's it.

What you probably dont understand or know is that 600RWHP on a Supra doesnt compare to 600RWHP on a 3rd Gen. A 600RWHP 3rd Gen will run high/mid 9's though the 1/4. It definatly would not be a car to race on the street!!!!!

If you want a very fast street car shoot for a 10sec car and go for around 450-470rwhp. Go to the single turbo section on the forum and there is a current thread explaining what all you need for a 470RWHP car.

BTW - A 600RWHP Supra requires internal engine modification if you want if to be a reliable street car just like the 7 will. No production motor (within reason) is designed to run over 2X its stock power.

Actually a Supra can push mid 600 RWHP w/o any internal mods. My roomate dynoed 641 with a HKS T04R no cams, no work on the block. It was just good tuning FCON, VPC, GCC, fuel pump, injectors on pump gas.

But a supra needs 600 rwhp to do the what a 400 rwhp Rx-7 does.

A Bone Stock Supra engine has no problem handling significantly more than 600 hp. In fact Paisley, Bullish, and several other people make almost 900RWHP with just changing the stock head bolts to the ARP setup. This IS NOT BS either, I know these guys personally. You cannot match power with a 2jzgte, but you can match power to weight. My RX7 weighs 2400lbs (without driver) Your lucky to get down to 2800lbs on a Supra. The RX-7 puts the power down alot better than the Supra does as well. BTW I have a 94tt Supra as well as my 93 RX-7.
