Coolant Problem - really bad

Hey,

I've done alot of searches but still havent found what Im experiencing.... Right after putting coolant in my car, topping it off all that crap, about two miles later the coolant light iwll come on. Its getting really bad, now, my engine is getting so ******* hot that steam is coming out of the resivouar tank... LIke.... it seems like the enging isnt even taking in the coolant, when i warm the car up and let turn it off coolant spews everywhere, like all of it... If I take the cap off when the car is cold theres nothing left in the filler neck and I can even squeeze the coolant tubes and no liquid comes up.... Is my engine gone???? it has 96,000 miles... its been running strong since this **** started happening....oil leaks are bad too.

Hey man, is this a joke? I would say without a doubt that your engine is screwed. I had pretty much the same problem and now my car is in storage until all of my rebuild parts come in. If you don't want to rebuild it yourself, (even though you probably should if you have decent mechanical sense) I think Malloy Mazda is the place to go for a rebuild. If the spewing problem is really bad, there is a strong chance that you will need at least one new rotor housing.

forgot to mention, you should stop driving the seven now or the problems will only get worse. You might buy a little time with a cooling system sealant.

thats shitty. you will save alot of money if u do the rebuild yourself...good time to go single turbo, if not already done i recommend staying with the stock apex seals mazda uses. they seal better. just make sure u have plenty of fuel, get a bigger radiator too. koyo or fluidine keep it cool. - best of wishes

shitty...

Anyone have an idea where I could get a good rebuild or get a new engine dropped? I wouldent trust my self swapping the engines my self... I know Marcus Williams is in the area but im seeing if I can find anyone a little more affordable before I decide to go to him.... Im tight on money right now

If you are low on cash, I would recommend that you find something else to drive until you have the money to rebuild. That is what I am doing. I am driving an old miata until I get enough money to do the rebuild, which should be very soon. You cannot be cheap when it comes to a rebuild. I am doing it myself and I am still looking at spending at least 2500-3000 dollars. Anyway, I agree with the idea that you shold do the rebuild yourself. You will save a lot of money that can go towards some cool parts. It really isn't very complicated. But, if you don't trust yourself that's probably not a bad thing

You guys should just tell people their engine is gone!!! ...you don't know. Now if he goes to a shady mechanic he will get taken advantage very easily.

The plastic end tanks on "all" cars radiators dont last more then maybe 75k mi. If you have a stock radiator, replace it. It could be as simple as a faulty thermostat. Take it to a race shop and have them diagnose it. Do "NOT" tell them you think the engine is shot! You should have it towed because the stock temp sensor is not acurate and when it reads hot that means it had allready overheated and didn't tell you yet. The light can come on for low water without overheating. If the needle gos to hot, pull the heck over immediately and tow it.

Yea, I havent driven it recently... The needle went past the H. Past the red line, almost past the light...... it was pretty freaky, I have 3500 dollars right now to put towards a rebuild..

The cost of a reman from Malloy is 1950+1000(core). For arount $800, you can get a GOOD mechanic to swap out the engine for you. Make sure you can trust him. Whil the engine is out, spend some time to do the little things such as hose job, FPD, FPR etc.

Keep in mind that by overheating, your rotor housing is most likely warpped and can not be reused in the rebuild, the replacements and the full rebuild kit will exceed $2000 in parts, and you'll also need special tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges etc. And a good bit of time. Unless you are a mechanic by trade or have a lot of time on your hands, go with the reman.
