Coolant loss....weird........
Well.......shoot........
I was out making some "hell runs" today on my private little race track. Sustained speeds of 145 - 150 for several miles......lots of fun!
On the way home, about a mile away, my coolant light and buzzer came on.
I took it easy, parked it, let it cool off and topped off the coolant, the expansion tank (AST) was about 1/3 from full, the main filler was only slightly down, the reservoir showed nearly full......
Everything seems normal now, maybe it is just a fluke?
My car did this before, in the summer once. Everything seems fine, no smoke, good idle, etc.
Just kind of weird.........

I've had the sensor freak out on me before. One time, I turned on the ACC power without starting the car, and it goes off for like 5 seconds and then stops . And then sometimes it would randomly go off when I started the car for a few seconds and then stop. It happened maybe 3-4 times over the course of a week, about 2 years ago, and then never reoccurred since... I never did anything to fix it since it went away on its own before I had a chance to figure out what was wrong. I'm thinking somehow a random air bubble got into the system and got trapped by the sensor or something like that, or maybe some weird electrical problem. *shrugs*

Could it be air pockets? When the water cools the pressure drops, so it starts to suck in coolant from the overflow. If you have a small leak or bad/worn connection then it will suck air as well.
I found the hose to the bottom of the AST was loosely fitting on the nipple. Put a worm gear clamp on it and it stopped buzzing at me

thats not paint....
Just keep an eye on underneath the car. If it happens to leak, not knowing you take the car out, you will be stuck on the side of the road.... not fun. If you are not seeing any leaks then it MIGHT be the water O-rings... not a good thing.
