Coolant light comes on when I floor it?

Ok this is pretty bizarre and I dont understand why this happens, when I floor the gas and the rpms get to above 4k, the check coolant light comes on.

The first time this happened I pulled over right away and shut the car off. I checked for leaks..... nothing. Turned the car back on and let it idle for about 5 minutes, check for leaks again...... nothing. The engine never even overheated or anything. when I turn the car back on, the check coolant light turns off. This seems to ONLY happen when I floor it. If anyone knows why this might be happening, I would really appreciate your help.

It may be that when your car revs high that the water pump in turn spins faster and somehow air gets into the system but water doesn't leak. It could either be a bad cap or a bad sensor though. I'm no genius with these things but start with the easiest.

no I am not over heating, I have the water temp gauge in the interior and I did keep an eye on it. I thought it MIGHT be low on coolant, but when I flushed the coolant recently, I filled it all the way to the top, and then burped the air bubbles out of the system. Am I supposed to fill it up when the car is cold? When I take the cap off, I cant see the coolant, but if I use a flashlight I can see it.If I do add too much coolant to it, the over flow tank will dispel the extra coolant correct? I dont know everything, so ur help is well appreciated =)

Just keep filling it up.

Do you ever smell a little coolant after driving for awhile? Almost every time I smelled coolant I ended up having to replace a coolant hose soon. But if you recently drained the system then just continue to fill it up.

yes I will try and add more coolant to the filler neck and see what happens. I never smelled any coolant even after long trips and the car has never overheated. Its just weird that the light comes on when I floor it. Thanks for the help
