Coolant leak problem right now
Coolant leak problem right now
OK just went outside and there is no coolant in my car, its all on the ground... i know where abouts the leak is coming from.... right under the lower belt, does anyone know what size/kind of hose this is and hw easy to get at it, i would bring it down to the shop but it wont be ready for a couple days and the last time i got one changed it was 200 bucks in labor, so if anyone could give me some help that would be nice, thanks

There are 6 hoses that I can think of that might give you coolant off the front of the engine, as well as the water pump itself. You will have better luck pulling the intercooler pipes and more than likely the intake airbox to see whare the leak is really coming from.
Likely offenders are:
- Lower radiator hose to water pump housing
- upper radiator hose the thermostat housing
- heater transfer pipe to thermostat housing (next to the upper radiator hose)
- turbo coolant return hose to water pump housing (to the passenger side and behind the lower radiator hose mount)
- upper turbo coolant hose to thermostat housing (really only visable from underneath looking up on the passenger side of the housing, right over from the upper rad hose mount. You MUST pull the air pump to get to this one!)
- throttle body return pipe to thermostat housing (directly underneath the turbo crossover tube)
The water pump will leak green goo over the metering oip pump lines and their flat metal holder.
Happy hunting!
