tranny stuck

i have a 1993 auto, im doing a swap, i cant get the tranny out, ive pulled it back from the engine about 4 inches, i can see the torque converter easy, but the top of the tranny is against the fire wall and will not come out, does any one have any advice? thanks

i have the down pipe off, as well as the starter

Did you unbolt the torque convertor?You may need to lift the engine up in the rear to make clearance.

if you jack up the front of the motor by the edge of the oil pan it may make it easier to come out , jack it up as high as you can, I know this help's when putting in and taking out the 5 sp tranny, not sure about the auto though

i have jacked the engine up, and it still hits the dang firewall, i dont know what do do, thanks though,

i have not unbolted the torque converter, does it have to be unbolted before the tranny, will come off?

Yep you have to unbolt the torque convertor.Only way you're gonna get the clearance to bring it down.There is an access panel on the passenger side of the motor and on top.
