Question coolant leak = bridgeported sound? wtf *VIDEO*

me and my buddy got the project FD started up today.

we know theres deffinate big coolant seal damage. its a stockported, stock twins (runnin sequential), stock ECU, OPEN MIDPIPE (no catback)

even though the bridgeported sound is pretty much sex, i dont understand how a stock ported motor cant sound like that.... even with coolant seal damage.

when we got it runnin with a precat, cat, greddy SP... it was still very loud and had rough idle....... when my other friend put a greddy SP on his FD which had a downpipe and hi flow cat, it was very quite and stockish.

my guess is the reason the rough idle is there is because of the person we got it from still had the stock ECU and its not getting enough fuel or somthing.. but im not exactly sure.... any ideas?

video here... http://youtube.com/watch?v=O0FGoZ9HmP4

He's got to be telling the truth. My car does the exact same thing when it's cold. I think the coolant get's on the plugs and gives us an erratic spark. Sometimes I when I started up my car only one housing would be firing then I hear some sparks smell some coolant then it's all good again. Some times I get the porting sound, sometimes I don't. +1 for having one of the shittiest problems with the most fun of symptoms
*edit* forgot to add my FD is stock except for intake and DP. If I ever make a video, I'll post my car doing the same thing.

I had a similar sounds when I flushed my coolant a few months ago and didn't properly burp the air out of the system. Took a few times to get right... make sure you're coolant is topped off and the overflow tank is full.

mmmmm... sexy sound........ but no... stock ports, its a reman, stock twins, stock ecu...... basically the only mods are intake and exhaust.

well... we know the coolant seals are basically destroyed... and we tried the block seal thing, and we had to flush out the cooling system like 7 times........ we only got to 4 times and we were stupid and left some of the flushing liquid in the system overnight...... although this was about a month ago.

btw.... WOW its loud... like 787B loud haha

when its idling at the end of the vid sounds like you are running of one rotor very low compression on one the rotors just my thoughts though I could be wrong. What does the vac say on your boost gauge?

Mine sounds the same, but that is with one rotor only getting compression on one face.
