coolant buzzer

here's the problem just dropped in a new engine and have the coolant buzzer stays on. there is no problem with water level or over heating so need to worry there its just the damn buzzer sounding off. i have a suspicion the wire was broken somewhere when i put the engine in, i haven't been able to find the break. i have tried grounding the sensor and that does nothing.

if the sensor goes bad does the buzzer stay on?

the red light on the temp gauge stays on as well.

any help appreciated.
