Cool rotary engine assembly video

Hey all,

Sorry..not sure which section this post goes too but it's an interesting clip nonetheless of building the engine by hand...or assembling it at least:

I need to know where I can find that rotor holder. Looks very handy.

That was neat for sure. Im SURE there is more to it than that but it looks like you could have the entire thing assembled in the time that it takes to do just piston rings on "other" motors

Cool vid! Ive just done a rebuild, and thats really all there is to it! just takes a while longer because we dont have that cool rotor holder thingy :P Just think though, all those seals you see him put in, you have to do that four times over (twice for each rotor) and you dont do it every day. Thats where the time goes...

That is a neat video, but not really much like my experience with engine assembly. There was no hylomar or grey, dowel pins, assembly lube, and wrestling with coolant o-rings! But the assembly of the block is pretty simple. Didn't take more than an evening.

Wow. That was a cool video! I didn't get to see that on the factory tour. Wonder if they use petroleum jelly at the factory to hold those water seals in place.

That looks like RE-Amemiya's shop. I'd love to buy the rotor holder thingy and those straps.

Pretty sure that's the mazda factory in hiroshima. Amemiya's shops are pretty small.

That's what I was thinking. Where is the asm lube etc? From my experience, I don't believe you need to use hylomar or petroleum jelly for the o-rings (in fact I don't like using petroleum jelly - it can cause o-rings to swell). I never understood what peoples difficulty is with installing the o-rings, no problems - even dry. I like to use hylomar around the legs on the housings etc. to stop weeping. But a fresh build with no lube is not good for initial startup I would think.
