which connector on the tranny sends the rpm signal?

trying to troubleshoot my non working tach, have searched but found nothing of use. I'm nearly certain it's the connector to the tranny. anyone know off hand or even better have a pic or diagram?

I'm not positive, but I think the RPM signal comes from the crank angle sensor at the very front of the engine, behind the drive pully. I doubt that this is the issue though if your car is running.

There are several posts on tach that do not work right. Try searching some more.

Negative, the tach receives it's signal from the ECU terminal 2B ( YELLOW/BLUE) wire. Refer to the green manual page c1-11 for a simple step by step troubleshooting diagnosis. Also refer to page Z-44 for the routing of this Y/L wire from the ECU. Most often times if the tach is not reading I have found a loose wire at 2B or hell once I cut it out completely by mistake.

Also check connectors X-15, X-07 and behind the dash C1-01

Good luck

It gets it from the CAS...which is required to run the car. If the car runs, then it is likely that you've either got a bad ECU, or you've got a bad connection between the ECU and tach.

I have a 94 shop manual.. I guess it wasn't green... also some of the page references made are different. I will look into the connections to the ecu
