colored smoke

anyone ever use colored smoke to diagnose vaccuum leaks. ( a can of colored smoke that you put into the system , and then you look for leaks) can this method be bad for the car

don't think so, unless theres some type of chemical in the smoke. But I've seen everyone typically use just good old fassioned smoke. Plain smoke will alert your attention to any leaks.

no harmful chemicals that i know of. its just pink smoke. just curious, i just wanted to know what most fd owners use to find their vac leaks
