Color-change on my FD

Lately Ive been thinking about re-painting my FD. Ive always wanted a brilliant black, and while I do love the way the car looks black, I just have an itch to do something different. A friend of mine owns a paint shop so I know it will be done right, and I have a color in mind, just looking for opinions. He recently painted another friend of mine's bike this color, it called Orange burst. The color flops like crazy in the sun and really loves curves, I think it would look incredible on an FD. What do you guys think?

Id repaint it BB. Im not into the "look at me" bright colors.

I mean if you are gonna paint it a different color, go mean like gunmetal or something, z06 blue etc.

That was my original thought, black will always be a classy color and look good, but seeing that orange in person really got me thinking. Im just worried it would be something that the thrill would wear off after a few months, and Id say "oh, now I have an orange car" Thats why Im thinking it over and getting more opinions before I would do anything drastic.

Thats exactly what you'll think lol. Trust me, i know people who have outrageous colors on their cars (no like like fnf rice style) and they regret doing it after 6+ months. In the beginning, its cool cause its rare, it stands out. But then you want to be melo (sp) and you'll want that original color back.

At least with gunmetal or z06 blue, those are colors that will never get boring.

my opinion - because you're asking if you should go with the orange color (instead of just doing it without asking anyone), you should definitely go with something else, like ulost is saying....

That's a good looking color. It looks like the orange that the mclaren GTR-LM comes in. But I don't think it would look to good on an FD. Kinda ricey IMHO.

On a side note...Did I see your car at the philly street races last weekend?

not that bad a color, IMHO it will look better with a bodykit versus stock...

That looks similar to the Mitsu Eclipse orange they had on the 2nd gens. Its nice, but its not the orange I'd go with. The Gallardo comes in a great orange. No flakes or color changing. Its just 'in your face' orange.

Personally, I would never go with a bright color like that orange. I love dark colors like dark red or blue, and of course black like my car

a little off topic, has anyone ever done a 2 tone fade on an fd? ive never seen it on one but a truck around the corner from me is dark red in the top half and at the bottom of the windsheild it fades to black. I was just curious cause the truck looks pretty cool. might look a little gay on an fd though. any thoughts or pics?

ps colour looks good but not really my cup of tea.

Asphalt gray with yellow stripes down the hood so when you look down you always have passing lane markings.

Brilliant black all the way. Especially if it's going to be a "quality" job. I saw an uber-clean BB FD rolling on a Los Angeles freeway last year (stock rims, lowered a bit, stock body), and I haven't seen a better looking car in person (IMHO) since. Peronally, I think you'll tire of that color pretty quick if you're having second thoughts in the sense that you want others' opinions.

Stay BB. Im so jealous of a clean BB. They look sooooooo good. Espeically with a 99spec front. Damn. But if you wanna change, I say do what ulost2my7 said earlier, the Z06 blue (electron blue). Its a really nice color. My dad's Z06 is amazing in person.
