i have a 94 Rx7 bone stock and the ecu is throwing code 16 which is the egr switch, i thought that was only put on cali cars, and for all that i know my car did not originate form cali, just seeing if any body would have any clue to why it is in my ecu. any help is much appreciated

Not 100% sure on this one, but I believe all '94 models had the egr switch.
I've had the same problem with it and decided to just block it off after I identified the wires to the switch as being the culprit for the error code. I took a small relay and spliced it in at the ECU harness to remove the CEL.
Never any problems since

 

Did you by chance take pics of your modification when you did the mod, that sounds like a good way to remedy this problem.

There's bunch of info on it on the forum though, that I used at the time.

Do a search on "egr + relay" or "egr + valve".
That should bring up all the threads you need to figure it out.
