code 16 after lim gasket replacement??
code 16 after lim gasket replacement??
Damn, after doing the rats nest, LIM, hks d/p and days of stressing and wrenching i get a damn code for the egr. i need to smog the car soon and what are my options besides replacing it. i have checked the blue 2-pin wires and its connected. so im guessing its a bad valve so how.....what would you s guys do in my situation?? thanks
Check to make sure that you did not break the EGR solenoid (middle solenoid on the bottom) nipples during the hose job, or pinch the hose when putting the coils back in.
If the solenoid is plugged in and working, all of the other things check out, replace the valve with a known good to test. I'm sure there are dozens of people who have removed thier EGR valves along with all the other emissions junk, and have them in a box in the garage.

You can also bypass the EGR check circuit with a relay - do a seach. The EGR check function was only on the '94 cars and the Cali cars.
With a totally plugged EGR valve, you should be able to pass emissions. It's just for excessive NOx emissions.

You should be able to pass smog without it. The '95 RX-7's didn't even have an EGR. Here's one solution to fixing the problem:
