Clutch problems

My clutch just recently started making noise, or at least i think its comeing from it

Its a knocking like sound only when im in netural with the clutch out. just a few days ago i noticed that i can also hear the noise when backout out, and going slow in first, but not in any other gears. I will try to record a sound clip of it so you can hear what i hear.

FYI the Clutch and flywheel have 101k on them.

And if i do have to replace them, what do yall think about Rx7store's combo kit flywheel and clutch?

Thanks.

how does the clutch pedal feel, and is it hard getting into first?

could be bad pilot bearing.

ACT uses Exedy pressure plates.

Does it make kind of a rattling noise? If so, it could just be the throwout bearing.

Just to clarify, when you say "with the clutch out" do you mean pedal out (engaged), or clutch disengaged?

If it is making noise with the clutch engaged, it is not likely to be the pilot or throwout bearing. It is more likely to be a bearing or something else in the trans itself.

If it is the throwout bearing, the noise will change with light pressure on the clutch pedal (still engaged).

If it is the pilot bearing, that will only make noise with the clutch disengaged and the flywheel at a different speed than the input shaft, unless the bearing is so badly trashed that it is allowing a lot of input-shaft runout.

if you are in neutral w your foot not on the clutch and it is making noise it is the pilot bearing or the input shaft bearings... both a common replacement item. if your pressure plate doesn't slip you don't need a new one. since it will be apart i strongly recommend you replace the clutch disc w the oem organic sprung item. act uses the oem disc and it is a good item for 350 rwhp or less.
