clutch pedel problems
I have already rebled the clutch but it still does the same thing......It will have diffrent disingagement points anywhere from normal to one inch from the floor and anywhere inbetween. I think it posibably could be the master cylinder.......I rebuilt it 3 months ago with no proble out of it untill last week. Thanks for any help...
I've heard stories of rebuilt master and slave cylinders going bad within a few months. I'd check the clutch fork first, then the master/slave cylinders. I just replaced my slave, probably should have done the master too, but it turns out my problem was not even hydraulics related .
On my old TII, I tried on numerous occasions to rebuild the clutch master and slave - NEVER had luck. It would work for a while, then fail. I would highly suspect them to start with.
Considering the both of them are questionable, I would get some new parts before continuing troubleshooting. At the very least, get a new master cylinder - that's the key culprit here, the slave cylinder is much simpler.
If the master cylinder isn't the problem, it definitely isn't helping things.
BTW, you don't necessarily have to buy a new Mazda part. Call around to local parts stores, especially the local non-chain stores that cater to the local repair shops. There's a place here in Pensacola that carries brand new Tokico hydraulics (that's who made them for Mazda) at a really fair price. Dunno on the FD parts, but the FC master cylinder was like $60 or so from them - all new, not a reman part either.

turns out it was the master cylinder. The aluminum rod was catching on the sides of the housing.... in the new rebuild kit it has one made out of a composit plasitic material...hopfully this will be the end to the problems.
