Clutch chattering

I've finally broken in the clutch and now it's starting to chatter. It only chatters when I start moving from a dead stop. It sounds like a clunking sound. The clutch kit installed was the ACT SS kit, plus the pilot bearing was replaced. The only thing that wasn't changed was the fork. The fork was checked for cracks before it was installed, I also looked through the service hole and it seems to be fine.
Any ideas? Am I just not driving the thing right and too use to the stock clutch and just killing the engine too much? Damaged parts?
The last resort is ripping everything out and replacing the fork, pilot bearing, and switching the clutch to a SPEC clutch.

Are you running the stock flywheel or the lightened one ? ? ? ? How many miles have you put on it so far and have you slipped it alot when your trying not to stall it ? ? ? I have the ACT S/S clutch and pressure plate, I also put in a new pilot bearing, seal and throw out bearing 3k on it so far and it's not chattering on me (I did use my original fly wheel). So I'm leaning towards maybe you've hot spotted it slipping the clutch, or worst case is that the pressure plate bolts may be loosening up.

When my clutch fork cracked my symptoms were chattering when engaging
the clutch, more free play at the top of the pedal, and the clutch would engage
very close to the floor.

the thing is that it only chatters slightly engaging from a stop. If i give it enough gas and dont lug the car, like sometimes one a slight incline, it'll be fine. only when it starts to lug a bit it chatters, that's kind of why it also might be drivers error etc.

Did you get the flywheel and pressure plate totally clean and grease-free before installation? Grease or oil on the flywheel can also cause clutch chatter.

Hot spotting is something caused by slipping the clutch. (the fly wheel gets very hot when this happens and usually happens in small areas on the flywheel making it harder in these areas) as this happens over a period of time the clutch disc tends to grab and slip over these areas and will kind of chatter or surge/slip when engaging the clutch. If you haven't been slipping the clutch, then loose bolts on the pressure plate or like Dale said possible failure (partial failure) of the clutch fork. Jack

sorry to bring up an old post but I also have the SS ACT clutch and replaced everything and it only chatters if I put the car in reverse. And it only does in when I dont add not enough gas when engaging the clutch in reverse.
