Hey everyone,

Just recently my cluster lights stopped working. I changed the fuse in the fuse box at the driver side kick panel and it was working for a few days then blew again. I changed the fuses again however this time the cluster still doesn't work.

I just changed all of the fuses (picture below) and made no difference? I circled the fuse on the picture below which seems to keep blowing and not sure exaclty what its for. Everything else seems to work fine... havent started the car, but tail lights, head lights - little lights on the cluster (high beam light, light from oil gauge and water gauge etc) work fine/ checked all globes behind the cluster which were fine - i've now taken that fuse out and my cd player is not working...

Any ideas? THanks guys

 

Sounds like you have a short to ground somewhere in the wiring harness. I would recommend you pull out your FSM, and start tracing down the wiring for the instrument cluster. Look at the instrument cluster circuit, and find where the power starts, and where it ends. As long as you know how to read a wiring diagram, tracing down the problem shouldn't be too hard.

Diagnosing and finding the problem is always frustrating, but I've noticed that most electrical problems are something simple.

 

sounds like it affects your METER circuit. Be careful because your coolant system is also on that line. Do a search for METER fuse and read my posts. It is VERY informative. Did you do any recent work to cooling system or gauge cluster?
