clicking noise while coasting

Sometimes I hear one loud click when i am coasting in neutral for a few seconds at slow speeds. Does anyone know what it could be. Transmission has about 60k.

Can you tell where it's coming from? Back bottom front right left or some combination.

Do you hear the noise when the clutch is depressed also?

Hmm. I started typing stuff, then I re-read your original post. You said 'one' loud click.. So it doesn't repeat? Hmm.

Can you "feel it"? Like through the shifter, the clutch pedal, your seat?

If it's associated with pushing in the clutch in it could be a funky spring on the throw-out bearing. We found that mine was mangled up when I had a clutch installed.

If it's with holding the clutch in, might it be air in your clutch line? Bleed the clutch.

Could also be u-joints on the driveshaft.. when they're worn and the driveline unloads itself they can click but it's usually more repetitive than just one click.

I say get a friend to ride shotgun and have him turn his head around and listen.
