Exclamation Clicking noise under boost, and overheating probs

8 months ago my fd motor was rebuilt by rotary warhouse and after being rebuilt with thier stage 3 option and race port the car is able to run for a small while but under boost there is an extremely loud clicking noise followed by sudden decrease of power like loss of boost. not like a boost spike though. and also on the freeway light boosting causes motor to heat up extremely fast. i have a sufficient fuel pump and other accessories to accomidate the build and efini turbos with the exception of a larger intercooler. i am boosting at 12psi. can someone please help me with the next steps to get the damn car running right? i recently changed out the walboro fuel pump for a toyota supra mark IV fuel pump in hopes of eliminating the plugs from being flooded so easily. also the car runs and shuts off while driving... im assuming because of the walboro

HELP!
Could they have over ported it?

Be careful it sounds like it may be detonation. And yes a race port may be overill for the stock turbos(ie twins).

i WAS using a pettit ecu designated for a ported motor... i upgraded to the 2002 twins... all seperate aftermarket guages are not working since the rebuild. i tried using higher octane to see if it would reduce knock if it WAS the problem and it didnt help, so ionno. i wanted to stay with the twins because im trying to keep my car smoggable here in California, and from what i know no single turbo with an external waste gate can pass smog... there is pictures of the shops port on this page: http://rotarywarehouse.com/porting_a...on_each_en.htm

... what kind of tests can i do since the factory service manual isnt helping anymore at this point... the shop wont even give me a reciept, and a series of mechanics are sick of trying to troubleshoot the engine dying probs and the clicking noise... im lost at this point

they told me it would not affect my emissions either by the way

Where is rotarywarehouse located? In CA?

In regards to your problem. Do you have an aftermarket ECU in there now? It sounds like you took out the petite ecu and put in something else? My money is on the ECU is the problem.

Edit:

What do you mean none of the aftermarket guages are working? Sounds like there might be other issues if none of the guages are working.

the car was running way way way too rich with the pettit, i only took it out to try and pass smog, the the clicking still occurs with the pettit in the car. the aftermarket guages arent working because some ******* tried to steal them

I have the same problem. When i get to the secondary boost, there is a loud whining noise, and an instant loss of power. Also boosting at 12psi. Techs say; Rear oil seals and turbo seals are leaking. They recommended, steel braided turbo oil lines."

Any suggestions? and i don't mean to steal this thread from you either
